Some of these effects of light and mist
have been carried home in my head.

I work from my sketches and back-up
photographs, but  let  the magic that only
watercolour can produce do the rest.

These magical moments are there one
minute and gone the next.

Sharp Edge in the Mist  (Blencathra)

Up 'the Struggle' from Ambleside, at the top
of the Kirkstone Pass is the Kirkstone Inn. 
 It stands at the foot of Red Screes
- a lovely scramble.
 I have climbed it only 5 or 6 times,
with my good friend Don Austin.
  Don has climbed it 579  times to date
 (26.6.08) and has celebrated
his 85th Birthday recently.
 Thanks Don for getting me to
some of these places
 - especially Red Screes.
